Dr. Stacey Johanson, DDS
Dr. Stacey Johanson grew up in Wahpeton, North Dakota. She attended the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in Minneapolis where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. Johanson has been practicing at The Family Dental Center since then.
Dr. Johanson shares the common Family Dental Center philosophy of “We cater to cowards.” She realizes the dental environment can be a very scary place and strives to make each and every dental experience pleasant. She takes her time to get to know patients and understand their specific dental wants and needs. She believes in helping her patients get the treatment they desire… No pushy salesman at this office. She goes further to explain treatment needs in detail with understandable wording.

Dr. Olivia Paulsrud, DDS
Dr. Olivia Paulsrud joined the Family Dental Center in 2021. She is happy to be back serving the tri-state area where she grew up only a short distance from here in Decorah, IA. Olivia’s upbringing with the local tri-state area allows her to be a very knowledgeable, passionate, & highly-skilled dentist for the people & communities that we serve here at the Family Dental Center.
She attended Luther College in Decorah, IA where she ran track & graduated with a Biology degree in 2016. While she was there, she created the first-ever Pre-Dental Club where she raised awareness for dental education for students exploring a career in dentistry by creating community mentorship opportunities with practicing dental professionals & providing other students with insights to the requirements of dental school & the dental industry. From Luther College, she went on to attend The University of Iowa College of Dentistry where she obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2021. Fun fact – The University of Iowa College of Dentistry is one of the few dental schools in the nation that provides on-site training for their students across every specialty in the dentistry profession (orthodontics, endodontics, periodontics, pediatric dentistry, & more). This education gave Dr. Paulsrud the skills to be a very talented dentist here at the Family Dental Center and we are excited for you to meet her!
Dr. Paulsrud’s compassion shines through in her personality and she takes great pride in her attention to detail and the experience her patients have while visiting her. She looks forward to using her strong dental background & compassionate personality to provide the best care for you and all the patients she sees.
Olivia is married to her husband Brian Paulsrud. They first met while they were both students at Luther College. They are very active young professionals who enjoy spending time outdoors with their dog, Flynn, going on walks & runs around town, attending social events & fundraisers, and getting to know the great area they call home now, Caledonia. They are excited to be a part of the Caledonia community and look forward to immersing themselves and getting to know everyone. If you see them out, please stop & say hi to introduce yourself!
Our Front Desk Staff
Your initial contact will be with one of our front office support staff. Each has been at our office a number of years and has a good understanding of the dentistry our office provides. They are our scheduling specialists and will help you on your way out to finalize any return appointments you may need..
Our scheduling specialists will be certain any questions regarding insurance benefits and financial payment options will be handled accurately and timely.
Our Hygienists
The hygienists are responsible for maintaining your oral health. From oral hygiene instruction to scaling and root planing and periodontal maintenance, they deliver a comprehensive treatment package.
Our hygienists take their time to get to know you and listen to YOUR dental concerns. Our hygienists are knowledgeable in dental topics and can walk you through your individual treatment plan.
Our Assistants
Our assistants are your concierge through the entire dental experience. They are your liaison from the time they guide you from the reception area to the dental treatment room until you are ready to leave the office. The assistants go out of their way to be sure you’re comfortable and well taken care of each dental visit.
Along with providing the doctors with chair-side assistance during dental treatment, they can clarify dental needs, explain dental procedures, and even schedule appointments.
